My husband and I have always been avid bird watchers and enjoy getting out when we can. The Royal Albert Woodland Series is the perfect collection for someone who enjoys nature and has an appreciation for our feathered friends.
The Royal Albert Woodlands Series It is a set of 6 teacups made for just 7 years, from 1980 to 1987. It features six different birds: Baltimore Oriole, Blue Jay, Goldfinch, Humming Bird, Redwing, and Robin and was only ever produced in one shape: the Montrose. As with all Royal Albert pieces, the Woodland’s Series patterns are all beautifully illustrated and capture the beauty of each one of these lovely creatures.
Even though there are only 6 teacups in the collection, it took us several years to complete it. Being produced for only a short while means that the teacups do not surface very often and it was always exciting to happen upon one to add to our collection. It is indeed one of the exciting facets of collecting teacups. You just never know when or where you will stumble upon a piece for your collection.
The colors on each one of these teacups does not disappoint with a beautiful depiction of each bird. We are so happy to have these in our collection now.
It’s always exciting to look out your window at your feeders and see a bird that matches the one on your teacups!
We love that these birds that are common to our area in Ottawa, Ontario and that we can see them out on our adventures. Our city offers so many opportunities for birdwatching with many trails, nature preserves and green spaces devoted to nature lovers.
We hope that you have enjoyed seeing this part of our collection.
