What if my item is lost in the mail?

All of our packages include tracking so you always know where your order is and we are always watching. Rest assured that we pride ourselves on providing excellent customer service so no matter what happens, we are here for you!

What Types of items can you appraise?

As a Certified Appraiser, I am qualified to appraise personal property including bone china, porcelain, silverware, dinnerware, antiques, furniture,  and general household goods. Most appraisers focus on a certain type of item. If I am not comfortable with a certain item, I will refer you to another appraiser who specializes in that particular field. WHAT IF MY ITEM IS WORTH LESS THAN THE COST OF THE APPRAISAL?

As a Certified Appraiser with the Canadian Personal Property Appraiser’s Group, I am bound to conduct business in an ethical manner which includes only moving forward with an appraisal if there is sufficient value in the item or items to be appraised.

Why do you sell in US currency if you are located in Canada?

That’s a great question! Our website allows you to switch between Canadian and American funds by selecting the corresponding flag on the left side of the page.  

Do you combine shipping?

Yes, we do!

Can I pay through PayPal?

You absolutely can!  We also accept all major credit cards. You can also call us to place your order by phone at 613-612-CUPS Monday-Friday from 9 am to 5 pm Eastern Standard Time. We are closed weekends and holidays. You may send us an email at info@theteacupattic.com anytime. Please allow 24-48 hours for a response.

If I am in Ottawa, do I have to pay for shipping?

All of our items SHIP FREE in Canada and the United States (yes, even Hawaii and Alaska!). 

Is it safe to use my credit card?

Yes, it absolutely is safe to use your credit card.  We do not store or see your information. You can always call us to place your order over the phone at 613-612-CUPS. Monday-Friday from 9 am to 5 pm Eastern Standard Time. We are closed weekends and holidays.

How do you package your items?

Like they are headed to battle! We don’t want you to receive your order and have it broken. Every order is DOUBLE-BOXED! We package your items safely and securely using lots of bubble wrap and packing paper in new, sturdy, clean boxes.  

How long will it take to receive my order?

We ship from Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. Transit times really depend on where you are located. Most times, it takes approximately 5-10 business days for your order to reach you. Some destinations like Asia, Australia and Africa can take a little bit longer. Holidays can extend the estimated transit times. Please keep in mind, your items have to be cleared by customs before getting to you and please keep in mind that there can be unforeseen delays due to the pandemic.

What if my order arrives damaged?

We take every precaution to make sure your items arrive safely, but they are fragile items.  If your order arrives damaged, you must contact us at info@theteacupattic.com and provide clear photographs of the packaging as it arrived to you as well as photographs of the items received. The postal service does NOT insure BREAKABLE items.

Are these made in England?

Yes, these are not reproduction items. They are vintage items made in England, with very few exceptions, before 2003.

Isn't shipping expensive?

Every item on our website SHIPS FREE in Canada and the United States. There are no purchase minimums, no coupon codes or hidden fees!  International rates (outside the US and Canada) are very competitive starting at just $35.

I am looking for a particular teacup, can you find it for me?

Yes, please send your request to us at info@theteacupattic.com and we will start looking! Please include photographs and/or patterns names.

I love a teacup I saw on your website, but money is tight. Do you have a layaway plan?

Don’t let that teacup get away!!! Our layaway plan is offered to our VIP Facebook group members. Find our VIP group here. We pride ourselves on having one of the simplest layaway plans around. We think everyone deserves to have and use pretty teacups!

Do you sometimes buy teacups from individual people who are downsizing?

What about Import Fees?

Import fees are charged by the destination country. The buyer is entirely responsible for the import fees that may be charged by their government. We have no control on the fees that are charged. Duty is charged according to value. We will not falsify customs documents. Please see more details on our Policies page.

DO you offer appraisals?

Yes we do! We have a qualified certified personal property appraiser on staff to provide detailed appraisals on a wide variety of teacups, antiques and general household items. Please see our Appraisals page for more details.
